August's featured Region

Just like the mighty Murray River that flows through its heart, the region thinks big with city-style convention and multi-purpose facilities for up to 1,000 delegates or scales down to intimate gatherings in gallery spaces, restaurants, outback stations or heritage hotels. Ever considered a houseboat cruise for your function?

The region begins 2.5 hours drive from Melbourne. Airport and railway gateway cities along the river put it within easy reach. Once your venue’s sorted, get started on building a pre and post-conference itinerary to impress. How will you discover Mildura,Swan Hill, Shepparton, Echuca Moama, Yarrawonga, Albury Wodonga and an abundance of sunshine, river-rich history, natural wonders and cultural delights?

On terra firma, team-build with four-wheel driving, horseback riding, cycling, mountain biking or golf. Splash around on a sandy river beach or dangle a line from the bank – the fishing is legendary. Unique experiences and activities are the hero. Imagine your group boarding an historic paddlesteamer, quietly steaming up the river, while getting engaged and productive in a totally tranquil environment.

Or meeting at a local winery and taking in the eclectic natural landscapes of Red Gum forest, desert, river, outback and lagoons. Whether you come together for a week or for a day, the Murray region offers diversity, pampering and space to breathe. Watch the magic happen as you get outside the office walls again to timeless river country.

Let’s meet in the Murray region where time and space mean great ideas flow freely.

Nyaal Banyul The new Name for Geelong Convention and Exhibition Centre

The Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation is gifting a new name to what has been known as Geelong Convention and Exhibition Centre returning Wadawurrung language to country.

The name Nyaal Banyul means: ‘open your eyes to the hills.’ The name is made up of two Wadawurrung words – nyaal, meaning to open your eyes, and banyul, meaning hill. This name was chosen to encourage people at the site to take time to appreciate the landscapes of Wadawurrung Country.

Meet the Venues of the Week (VOTW) for the month of July. If you are intrigued by July’s VOTW, and are considering them for your upcoming event, we encourage you to reach out to our sales team Stephanie and Simon. They would be delighted to offer their expertise in navigating the array of options available throughout regional Victoria.
