About Puffing Billy Railway Lakeside Visitor Centre

HOLD YOUR NEXT EVENT AT PUFFING BILLY RAILWAY LAKESIDE VISITOR CENTRE Puffing Billy Railway is Australia’s Premier Preserved Steam Railway, located in the heart of the Dandenong Ranges. Discover our new state of the art facility set in the scenic surrounds of Emerald Lake Park. The Lakeside Visitor Centre’s light-filled function spaces echo the railway’s heritage without compromising on comfort or amenities. Our indoor and outdoor spaces can host anything from meetings and small workshops to conferences or gala dinners. Renowned architects Terroir have sensitively designed the centre into the landscape, affording fresh outlooks on the surrounding forest at every turn. Enjoy panoramic views of the platform and historic artifact displays from the function space or deploy floor-to-ceiling blinds during your event for added privacy. The soundproof function space features an operable wall, the latest AV technology and a dedicated bar. The alfresco dining area is perfect for sundowner cocktails or breakout sessions for larger groups. All catering is prepared inhouse. With access to some of the best produce and suppliers in the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges region, the Lakeside Visitor Centre can cater to all tastes using locally sourced ingredients and as a fully licensed venue, features standout beer, wine, and cider varieties. Function spaces can be hired independently or combined with our steam train journeys, including private charter trains, exclusive carriages for groups, and onboard dining in enclosed heritage first-class carriages. Plus, there are diverse experiences off the rails – from paddle boating to bike hire – to reconnect and inspire your group.
