Construction is now underway on an 11-storey tower adjacent to the current Novotel Geelong hotel, making the largest hotel development in the city’s history.
The $75 million investment, lef by EDI Group in partnership with Novotel/Accor Pacific, will create 134 additional guest rooms, including 15 apartment style suites, bringing the hotel’s total room count to 243.
Designed to support both business events and leisure stays, the new tower will feature a 125-seat brasserie style restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining offering panoramic 360° views above the bay, plus a dedicated wellness centre.
Importantly for the meetings and events market, the expansion adds around 1,200m ² of combined event space when paired with the existing hotel facilities, significantly enhancing Geelong’s capacity to host conferences and large-scale events.
With construction already commenced and an anticipated opening around 2027, this project signals strong confidence in Geelong’s evolution as both a leisure and business event destination.
