About Healesville Sanctuary

Explore a bushland haven for Australian wildlife at Healesville Sanctuary, just one hour from Melbourne in the stunning Yarra Valley wine region. Wander through the tranquil tracks and meet iconic Australian animals including koalas, kangaroos, platypus, dingoes, wombats and emus. Healesville Sanctuary’s Australian Wildlife Health Centre treats and cares for more than 1,500 native animals every year. Take a visit to the Centre and meet our vets and nurses, as they treat sick, injured or orphaned wildlife in need of care.

Brolga Room

Nestled in the natural bushland setting of this iconic Australian Sanctuary, the Brolga Room is the perfect backdrop for your next event. Newly renovated with classic stonewalls and expansive lush lawns, this function space can host up to 200 guests. The Brolga Room features plenty of natural light and provides a quiet, private atmosphere. Take a break before lunch and wander through the beautifully landscaped grounds of the Healesville Sanctuary… See the daily Spirits of the Sky featuring birds of prey and parrots or speak to us about organising an encounter with some of our amazing wildlife.

The Brolga Lawn

The Brolga Lawn features a lush, green, well manicured lawn surrounded by vibrant Australian native gardens, expertly cared for by the Healesville Sanctuary Horticulture team. It’s a beautiful setting for spring and summer days, and is located just outside the Brolga Room where your event would be held.

The Robert Eadie Pavilion

The Robert Eadie Pavilion is perfect for an intimate gathering. With stunning stone walls and a cozy crackling fireplace, along with charming festoon lighting, this venue offers a romantic ambiance that keeps your guests warm and dry during the cooler Melbourne months.
