Conferencing destinations and venues in Regional Victoria were on show in Sydney last Thursday at the Regional Victoria Showcase held at Doltone House Hyde Park.

This second edition in Sydney showcased a bigger contingent with over 20 regional Victorian operators and representation from all over Victoria including Geelong, Phillip Island, the Murray, Yarra Valley, Great Ocean Road, Bendigo and Ballarat.

“The ‘Team Victoria’ spirit is one key reason this event is such a success,” said Chris Porter, Executive Officer, Business Events Victoria. “While each exhibitor seeks to attract business for their respective venue, they are always on the ready to take a collaborative approach and refer business on to other partners at the show.”

The showcase attracted a record 250 attendees who interacted with representatives from Victoria’s beautiful regions and were indulged with canapes, premium Rochford Yarra Valley wines and lively entertainment throughout the evening.

“We provide a relaxed and informal business environment for attendees to be able to wander Victoria without leaving Sydney. They get the opportunity to meet with the experts that can help them plan their next business event.

“The Showcase really helps put regional Victoria on the map, with many attendees’ providing feedback that they didn’t know many of these unique venues and that they are now able to consider them for future events,” says Mr Porter.

The showcase was made possible thanks to event partners Executive Assistant Network (EAN), Rochford Wines, Keynote Entertainment, ShowGizmo, Barlens Event Hire and the Victorian State Government who provides continual support of the business events industry in regional Victoria.

Business Events Victoria celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and currently delivers the state government-funded Business Events Regional Victoria Program, which provides a range of free services for event organisers and in-house planners to find and book the best venue for their business event.
