With 2017 now well underway, the BEV calendar of activities for the year is certainly action packed. We have an extensive range of opportunities for BEV members to engage with event planners and we will continue to fly the flag for regional Victoria wherever possible.

The year kicks off with the number one business events tradeshow AIME, taking place in Melbourne on 21 and 22 February. Regional Victoria is well represented with ten co-exhibitors joining BEV at the show. We will continue our tradeshow presence throughout the year by attending the Associations Forum National Conference (Sydney) and Executive PA Summit (Melbourne).

Plans are well underway for the Regional Victoria Showcase events to be held once again in Melbourne (25 May) and Sydney (17 August). The Showcases are quickly becoming the must attend events of the year, providing members with the opportunity to meet and network with qualified event planners.

Our successful Familiarisation Program will kick off in March with famils scheduled in the calendar for Geelong, Gippsland, Phillip Island and the Great Ocean Road throughout the year.

We continue to collect research on the regional business events industry via the Business Events Monitor. This research continues to show the importance of the business events sector to regional Victoria by accurately measuring the economic value of business events.

What’s New for 2017? While we continue to run our successful program of activities, this year will see the introduction of a new initiative – BEV Boardroom Session. These sessions are aimed at our destination members, bringing regional Victoria to Melbourne. Destinations can update qualified event planners on all that is happening in their region in a fun and informal boardroom setting.
